πŸ’‘ INTRODUCTION

What does it mean to truly discover yourself?
According to Master Woo Myung, many speak of self-discovery, yet few understand what it truly is. Real self-discovery is not about building an identity based on worldly experiences or knowledgeβ€”it is about finding who you truly are beyond the false self.

🌱 The true Way (도, Dō) is none other than Truth, the very thing Buddhist monks have sought for centuries.
While the false self is bound by thoughts, worries, and desires, the true self exists in peaceβ€”free from burdens, even in silence.

In this writing, Master Woo Myung shares his own realization on the path to Truth, reminding us that finding our true nature is the heart of all spiritual practice.

πŸ“ ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Self Discovery

I knew not what β€˜dō (Truth)’ was,
but upon walking its path,
I am now on the true Way.

What is the true Way?
It is Truth.
It is what every Buddhist monk
has agonized over –
the discovery of self.

People say that we must all discover our selves,
but what is real self-discovery?
I see that it is none other than finding who you are.

I must teach people that they do not know this.
Though I am at my leisure,
just humming a tune without a word or a worry,
such is my concern of concerns.

– Woo Myung
