Introduction
โจ In this profound teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that a true saint is not defined by status, reputation, or outward virtue, but by the complete elimination of the self. A saint is one whose life exists in Truth, free from ego and personal attachment.
According to Master Woo Myung, all people have the potential to become saints. However, one becomes a saint only after being enlightened to righteousness and shedding the accumulated karma formed through oneโs lived life. ๐ฟ
When the selfโshaped by past actions and stored deep within the subconsciousโis completely discarded, one becomes free. That freedom is sainthood.
Original Writing by Master Woo Myung
A Saint
A saint is only a saint if he is completely without self;
a saint is he whose life is in Truth.
All people can become saints,
but they are only saints if they have been
enlightened of righteousness.
A saint is an enlightened being.
A peerless saint is none other than
a person who has no self.
We should know that a saint is a person
who has shed his karma and has reached Truth.
Oneโs karma is the actions of the life he has lived.
Only when he has eliminated this, can he become free
from the repressed self formed from his past lives
which lies in his subconscious mind.
Since it is this self that shapes his present life,
only when he casts this off, is he a saint.

Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation
๐ธ At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners learn the method of eliminating karma and the false self that shapes oneโs life. Through meditation, one can discard the accumulated past and awaken to Truth.
In the teaching of Master Woo Myung, sainthood is not an honorโit is the natural state of one who has become free from self.
