What is nirvanaโor spiritual deathโin the true sense?
According to Master Woo Myung, physical death is simply the end of the bodyโs lifespan. But nirvana is something deeper: it is the complete elimination of manโs mind (soul) and selfโall greed, conceptions, and habitsโto discover the real self.
๐ฟ Nirvana is not annihilation. Rather, it is the discovery of the whole, the state where nothing truly disappears because everything remains as it is. It is great enlightenment, reached after enlightenment has shown the place of the mind, and the self has been discarded completely.

What Is Nirvana (Spiritual Death)?
Death refers to the end of a personโs physical lifespan. However, if greed remains in his mind at the time of his death, this does not disappear, so in terms of dล, nirvana or spiritual death is getting rid of manโs mind (soul) and his self entirely.
The practice of nirvana is the practice of going to Godโs world, but it is done after one has become enlightened, that is, after one knows the place of the mind. It is the practice of getting rid of oneโs self completely – all of his conceptions and habits from his life as well as everything that exists – so that he can discover his real self.
Discarding does not mean disappearance; rather, it signifies the discovery of the whole. When something disappears, it does not really disappear: everything remains just as it is. Such is nirvana; it is great enlightenment.
