INTRODUCTION

In this profound teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that nimitta (form) and animitta (formlessness) are not two separate realms, but one Truth.
Only when the individual self completely disappears can one awaken as the Wholeβ€”reborn as Buddha, as God, as the consciousness of the Universe itself.

This writing reveals the deep principles behind enlightenment, rebirth, and the oneness where existence and non-existence become the same.

ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Nimitta and Animitta Are the One Truth

A β€˜dō-in (one who is enlightened)’
cannot be seen by humans,
nor does Divinity appear before human eyes.
What this means is
people can only see from their own perspectives
because their consciousnesses have yet to wake up,
thus making it impossible to see Truth.
One is Truth when one’s individual consciousness
has been reborn as the Whole – as Buddha.
Thus a person who has received
the Body and Mind from the original Buddha
and who has been reborn as Truth
is one who has become enlightened
and who has reached the completion of Truth.
In other words, he has become the Universe –
the nimitta and animitta.

Amidst the non-existence that is animitta,
there exists the consciousness that is God.
And it is only when one transcends beyond
this non-existence – this animitta –
that there is God.
God is what one can be reborn as when
not a single ounce of one’s self exists
and when one has transcended beyond death.
One who has been reborn as God knows that
one no longer has sin or karma.
One who has been reborn as God is Truth.
One must no longer exist in order to be God.
Only then would one truly be free.
So with this new Body and new Mind –
with this Jung and Shin –
one must be reborn as God.
Then the nimitta-Land
that is within one’s consciousness
would be true Paradise.
Then existence would be non-existence;
non-existence would be existence;
the two would be one and the same.
For sure, a person who has been reborn as
the β€˜pure emptiness’ and β€˜wondrous existence’
from the place of non-existence – from nimitta –
is one whose body and mind have been reborn.
Thus he would have the world of nimitta –
the world of Truth –
inside him.

This earth and this Heaven must exist within
man’s consciousness, which has become the oneness.
Only then can man become one with God,
and such would be the image of God.
The individual is Truth,
and Truth is the individual.
Thus the earth, Heaven, and humankind
will be saved according to the will of man.
Both the nimitta and animitta are Truth,
which is oneness.
Thus man will live in eternal Heaven.
