๐Ÿ’ก INTRODUCTION

๐Ÿ‘ต The elderly live in their way, the young live in theirsโ€”yet all are simply living their lives. According to Master Woo Myung, the difference lies in their thoughts and in the lessons learned with the passage of time.

โœจ As one lives longer, one begins to understand the importance of discarding. True discarding is not just about letting go of material things but about reaching the state of non-existence of self.

๐ŸŒฑ To be without self is to shed oneโ€™s ego and memories, living free from burdens of the past. This is why it is meaningful to live to the natural span of lifeโ€”so that one can awaken to the Truth of selflessness and completeness.

The Natural Span of Life

The elderly live in their way,
and the young live in theirs;

they all live lives
but their thoughts differ.

When a person lives a long time,
he comes to know discarding.

Discarding is none other than
the non-existence of self.

To be without self
is to shed oneโ€™s ego.

To shed oneโ€™s ego
is to throw away oneโ€™s memories.

This is the reason people should live to
the natural end of their lives.

โ€“ Woo Myung
