INTRODUCTION
πΏ In this deep teaching, Master Woo Myung reveals that the mind of a viperβcold, cunning, and self-centeredβcannot reach heaven.
Heaven only accepts a warm, sincere mind that has repented completely.
When one practices Truth only with the intellect, without the warmth of the whole being, he remains distant from heavenβs embrace.
True realization comes when one discards his snake-like mind and becomes one with heaven, with love and humility. π
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
The Mind of a Viper
Man looks at the sky
with the mind of a viper,
but heaven does not accept
the snake-like mind.
Heaven only accepts minds
that are delivered with warmth.
A study or practice done devoid of wisdom,
with the head, and with a cold body,
is far from heaven.
Only when one repents with a mind
that carries the warmth of the whole body
does heaven accept,
and without such warmth,
it is not received.
Man thinks of heaven
with his snake-like mind;
he tries to build castles in the sky
with a snake-like mind,
but heaven does not allow any falseness at all.
Only Truth is permitted and lives.
Heed the fact that sly cunning –
what is done only with the head –
cannot possibly reach the true will of heaven.
You and I are one,
and one with heaven,
but if you do not know this,
you are the most lost of all.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
βοΈ The mind of a viper symbolizes the false, calculating human mind.
At Santa Clara Meditation, we practice to discard this cold mind and awaken to the warmth of heavenβs heart.
When the mind becomes sincere and true, the barrier between self and heaven disappears.
To live with the warmth of Truth is to live one with all beings β no longer a viper, but the light of heaven itself. π
