INTRODUCTION
✨ In this teaching, Master Woo Myung explains the true meaning of samsāra, the cycle of reincarnation described in Buddhism. Rather than a literal rebirth into different beings, samsāra represents how one becomes trapped in illusions (maya) created by one’s own attachments and false mind. Only through awakening can one escape this suffering and return to the true world. 🌱
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
The Meaning of Samsāra
It is said in Buddhism that when a person dies, he goes through the cycle of reincarnation, or ‘samsāra’ — a continuous cycle that is brought about by delusional attachments. Though he may exist as a human being while he is alive, a person whose delusional attachments are strong will transmigrate into many illusions, or ‘maya’, after he dies, such as a snake, maggot, or fly. A person becomes and lives his own illusions because there is no realness in him. Therefore, such a state is one of true pain, and it entirely is hell.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners learn to break free from delusional attachments and escape the cycle of samsāra, which is nothing more than being trapped in one’s own false mind. By discarding these illusions, one awakens to the true world and lives a life free from suffering and maya. 🌠
