Pascal and the Illusion of Spiritual Law
Pascal, a French philosopher and genius, wrote his book “Pensees” or “Thoughts” after some mystical experiences of the Catholic faith. In it, he wrote that just as the things in nature follow given laws and principles, the spiritual world also has a spiritual order and law. Thus man’s life should obey this spiritual order. Furthermore, a religious and theological order exists for spiritual order, which gives man’s spiritual life meaning. What is right and wrong about what he wrote?
What Pascal wrote is simply the product of his mind from his spiritual viewpoint, but it is not Truth. Although people can see the world of souls through an out-of-body experience, what they see is a reflection of their own minds and it is not the actual world of souls that has a certain law. When people experience this through meditation or prayer, they call it a blessing from God, but it is just a product of their minds.
Therefore, it is imperative that we must not fall into falseness, and a study and practice to realize that the Universe is one’s self is needed.
