Magician
If something came forth
from the sky that is so far away,
what would it be?
The whole Universe is a Soul,
and when there is soil and water,
and when the temperature and humidity are just right,
anything can be made.
This is what a magician is;
it is a true magician.
Everything is made from this place,
from all living things that are made as perfection,
to microscopic organisms.
How strange and wondrous it is!
Lacking nothing, wanting for nothing,
it is that which simply exists in that place.
The form and the quality is the same;
the former is not visible to human eyes and the latter is,
therefore,
people live without knowing where they come from.
People try to find answers
in human thought,
but it is something that cannot be known
in this way.
This complete entity which lacks nothing,
simply comes into existence and disappears.
What is it that the forms of all things have?
They all have lifespans
all things have lifespans
and to have a lifespan means it is finite.
What is it to be finite?
It is to have limits,
which determines its end.
All creations come from earth, water, wind, and fire,
they live as earth, water, wind, and fire,
and return to earth, water, wind, and fire.
Why do we age?
Earth, water, wind, and fire make people age.
It is the balance and harmony of heaven and earth
that was not made this or that way by anyone;
As the phrase “balance and harmony of heaven and earth”
indicates,
the place that comes and goes, of and by itself,
is neither existence nor non-existence;
it is the substance of the master of the Universe.
Looking at the world with my eyes closed,
everything in the world
is all within me.
Looking at the world with my eyes open,
that world is right here.
Foolish people,
foolish, foolish people –
even though they have it all,
they do not know that they do.
If they open their eyes and see,
they will know that their real substance is the Universe as it is,
and it is only themselves that do not exist.
