ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Liberation

With the years and with the wind
man comes and goes.
The stars that shine their light in the sky all disappear,
for their light is not the true Light.

Man has countless stories and experiences,
which he tumultuously creates,
but it is the will of the Universe
that he live silently as one.
All the things that exist in the wind and clouds
do not originally exist,
but manโ€™s delusions create them.
They are all a dream.
But the Universe is silent,
unable to tell man that only it exists.
The Universe is teaching him that
the Universe has come as a human being,
and so man should live his life
following the will of the Universe.

Arrivals and departures
and countless stories and experiences
all come and go according to the Universe.
But man lives on ignorant of its will,
which is why human life is futile and meaningless –
a constant procession of experiences wherein he lives
carrying his burdens,
then passes on in the afterworld,
drifting.
Only his mind remains as a burden,
unknowledgeable of any purpose
and thus drifting.

Human life is a constant state of wanting
amidst the flow of time.
Man constantly makes his plans according to his will,
but such is just a passing dream.
Man endeavors and thinks
in an effort to hold on to his attachments;
he does not know how meaningless and futile this is.
His stories of being well off or poor
are all relics of his life.
He lives not knowing that they are meaningless dreams.
With his worldly knowledge regarding
how to live well,
man acts like he knows everything;
his knowledge is what makes him laugh and cry.

I look to the Universe and surmise its true will.
The true will is one that is absent of any attachments.
To be absent of attachments means
to be confined to nothing.
It means to be liberated and to liberate.
It is a state absent of oneโ€™s individual attachments.
It is the state of liberation.

I have no words;
words are not needed.
What this means is,
I live relaying my will to people,
but the word of the Universe
has no will at all.
It is according to the flow of nature
that the whole of creation exists
and that everything in the world lives and dies.
It is according to condition
that all things exist in this absence of will.
It is according to condition
that objects change into objects.
Even though it may be an object,
if it is absent of attachments, then it is liberated.
Liberation is non-confinement.

Man lives in the world
not knowing where he came from or where he will go.
Since he does not know the will of the Universe,
man does not know what is Truth
or what is righteous.
Man is confined to man.
Man is without the will.

It is when you live
taking heed of the Universeโ€™s will and following it
that you may live in the true world.
The true world is a place that is without falseness
and without your attachments.
The world where you are not yourself is the true world.
All that you have is of true world,
but to be true means that you do not exist.
There is no pain or sighs in the true world,
for it is a place absent of individual existence.
Individual existence means individual pain.

Love received and love given
are of the human mind.
The human mind is of this and that,
but the Mind of the Universe is non-existence.
Non-existence means that
everything in the world does not exist.
But man alone creates this and that
and lives bound to them,
only to simply depart one day.
Human life is not about living bound to things;
it is to live without such things;
it is a life simply lived then departed.

The Universe has no will but everything exists.
Likewise man must be without his will
in order to be omnipotent.
But he does not know this.
There are many stories and experiences in this world,
but these are all lead by wants and attachments.
And it is due to such wants and attachments
that man is unable to fulfill what he must.
Man does not know natureโ€™s flow โ€“
the order being that this world simply exists as it is.
Instead he thinks living his life is a natural thing.
He does not understand that
the Universeโ€™s will and purpose
will be fulfilled when he breaks free from this.
A will must be true in order to have no hindrances.
Hindrances occur when there is no Truth.
Truth is without hindrances and is thus free.

If a will is a will,
then it is not a will.
It is only when a will is not a will
that it is a true will.
Man will never be able to know
the real meaning of the true will
until he has died.
