INTRODUCTION
β¨ In this poetic and deeply reflective teaching, Master Woo Myung describes his transformation from a life of loneliness, resentment, and inner struggle into a life of complete unity with the Universe.
πΏ He reveals that true freedom and peace do not come from changing the world or fulfilling desires, but from disappearing as the false self and becoming the world itself. When one becomes the world, there is no more agony, regret, or conflict β only rest, freedom, and oneness with natureβs flow.
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Let Us Live by Becoming the World
I sang alone,
disliking the world.
The disagreeable world and my mind of grudges
flew away with my song.
I drank because I found the world did not fit my will.
From my shotglass and drunkenness
my many agonies would go away.
In the frozen winter days,
I walked in fields devoid of people,
with only the moon as my friend;
I just walked aimlessly,
for I did not know the true meaning of human life
and the world did not fit my will.
I learned about the futile life
from the vapors that vanished from either
my breath or the cigarette smoke.
Without reason or meaning,
there were many thoughts in my mind,
one thought latching onto another.
In my loneliness,
there was never a single day when I could laugh heartily.
My life was like an endless desert.
It was a life without answers;
but once I disappeared and became the universe,
I came to know the principles of the world.
My song,
my drinking,
my endless agony,
all became free and calm.
Now the world sings and has a drink
and my endless agony is no more,
now I am always at rest,
for only the world exists within me.
My songs became songs of rest and freedom;
I no longer have any songs of regrets
nor any questions or doubts.
I simply live, I simply exist;
I no longer exist and become the world.
I exist yet I do not exist; I do not exist yet I exist.
The world of true life is me.
Let us understand the will of great nature
and live the life of great nature.
Let us know the will of all creation in the universe
and know the true reason the creator made the universe.
What you live for and why you are born in this world
is to be the world and to live as much as the world lives.
It is to live in the world as one with the world.
It is sorrowful to see
people live as slaves to their own mind.
I tell them to be the world, to live as the world,
not to live as slaves to mind clutter and delusions,
to rest, and to be free.
When the world is within you, you live as is without death.
I tell them to live by becoming the world,
because everything is alive and
existence and non-existence are one.
When one lives by becoming complete,
it is to become the world.
There is no going or coming.
There is no coming or going.
Everything exists on its own.
Everyone who becomes the world lives that way.
Everyone who becomes the world
is the forever-living, never-dying God.
Everyone lives with the world as one.
The kingdom
where only those who have the world in their minds live
is the forever-living heaven.
