The Land of Human Completion
Indelible events were all vain illusions,
and time that passes is also a delusion.
The countless times of struggle
when I did not know where to go,
or what it was that I wanted to find,
were all such foolishness I do not even remember them.
All people – the silent and the noisy –
have followed the passage of time
and what remains in my mind are all illusions and delusions.
What was told to people as if it was the way,
only made them wander further from the true path
in the illusionary world without meaning or significance.
All the thoughts and actions that went round and round in my head
like a squirrel running endlessly in its wheel with no destination,
were vain delusions; they were false and useless deeds.
Inside my mind of greed, my false self existed and thus,
I had pride.
I had anguish.
I had money.
I had family.
I had fame and love.
When that self completely died and those minds were gone,
my whole mind disappeared.
Time that passes disappeared,
the places I needed to go disappeared,
and the numerous things I needed to achieve disappeared.
Money, love, pride, fame and family, my false self
all disappeared.
Although my false self no longer exists,
I am born in the world of God beyond my mind world;
from my mind world, it is now the world of God.
God, which we have only heard of, is freedom and liberation;
free from everything in the world.
It is freedom because the world that passes away,
along with time and the flowing river, has gone.
even time no longer exists.
Now there is only time that just simply exists,
not the time that passes.
Bitterness and regrets arising from failure to achieve has gone,
so it is haewonsangsaeng –
the resolution and dissipation of all regrets, and living for others.
To the people who live in this false world,
if you know that this body and mind is false,
you can know everything is all your fault,
and that your illusionary self deserves to die.
For what reason does an illusion have
bitterness, regrets, family, money, love, fame and pride?
Everything in the world is inside the mind that your illusionary self made;
this is this, that is that, right and wrong, countless doubts and suspicions
all exist inside the dark tomb that is your mind world.
This world is false and if this world and your self do not exist,
there is the true world.
If you are born in the true world,
you have achieved everything;
you are a perfect and complete existence.
When there is absolutely nothing in the clear sky,
but heaven and earth has been born inside man’s consciousness
and he lives as the master of heaven and earth, it is heaven.
A life with meaning is a life that is lived
when one’s mind has become heaven and earth –
it is a life lived born within this heaven and earth.
