๐Ÿ“– Introduction

๐ŸŒซ๏ธ Why do people feel restless, longing, and burdened even when life seems ordinary?

In this reflection, Master Woo Myung describes how human beings live attached to sadness, memories, and endless thoughtsโ€”creating what Buddhism calls kleshas, the afflictions of the mind. โœจ

The Universe itself exists without attachment. Only man clings, thinks ceaselessly, and suffers. Freedom begins when these attachments are discarded.

Kleshas

People live with longing,
not knowing what they must live for.

People live in this world
laughing, crying, talking, and sighing.

The sadness passes with the years,
but one lives attached to it.

The Universe exists as it is
and thus all creations in the world
are absent of attachments.

There is no sadness in the Universe,
but man alone has countless kleshas.

Man alone thinks ceaselessly in vain
and thus lives creating useless kleshas.

๐ŸŒ  Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation

At Santa Clara Meditation, kleshas are understood as attachments formed by the false mind. ๐ŸŒŒ

The Universe flows without clinging. Creation exists naturally. Yet human beings attach to sadness, pride, longing, and memoryโ€”replaying them endlessly.

When one discards the false mind, kleshas dissolve.
When kleshas dissolve, peace appears naturally.
Freedom is not gainedโ€”it is uncovered when attachment ends.
