π INTRODUCTION
β¨ In this reflective poem, Master Woo Myung explores the concept of indifferenceβa state often misunderstood as emotional detachment. Many think indifference is apathy or coldness, but true indifference is the absence of the false self. When one is free from the false mind, one stands firmly in Truth, unshaken and unperturbed by the distractions of the world. π
True peace is achieved not by ignoring the world, but by living without attachmentβa state of complete freedom and clarity.
π ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Indifference
Pitiful womenfolk sigh,
thinking of their indifferent husbands
who left for Hanyang.
Indifference is to be without minds,
but their husbands are not indifferent,
just apathetic β
their minds lack interest.
True indifference β
when there is none of oneβs own mind β
is to stand firmly in Truth.

π REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners learn that true indifference is not a lack of emotion, but the absence of attachment to the self. When we discard the false mind, we can live in harmony with Truth, where we are neither disturbed by joy nor sorrow, nor any external conditions. πΏ
True peace is found in stillness, the stillness of the mind when it is not clouded by false judgments, desires, or attachments. In this state, we become one with Truth, standing firmly in the reality of the present moment.
