INTRODUCTION
In this contemplative passage, Master Woo Myung reveals the fundamental misunderstanding humans have about life.
People do not realize their wrongdoings, nor do they truly understand what they seek. They limit their own existence and cling to a world that passes as quickly as clouds across the sky.
Although saints throughout history have spoken of the fleeting and unreal nature of the human world, people cannot hear these teachings—even though they believe themselves to be intelligent.
True knowledge is not what the human mind accepts but what arises when the self is gone.
Master Woo Myung teaches that real wisdom is found when one kills the false self—breaking free from the body and the illusions of the mind.
Only then can one awaken to Truth. ✨
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Human Life II
Man does not know the wrongdoings of his life,
nor does he know what he yearns for in life.
Man limits his life.
Saints of the past said that
the reality of this world was not its true reality –
that everything in the world passes by like the clouds –
but people do not know the meaning of these words.
Man alone sings praises about life, no other.
Though a being of Truth may speak of Truth,
man cannot hear it
even though he thinks he is the smartest,
even though he has ears and eyes.
Knowledge is the acceptance one creates in his mind.
Perhaps this is why the path to knowledge is a difficult
one to take.
I teach people that a wise person is one
who kills his body and thus breaks free from it,
all with his mind.
