πͺ According to Master Woo Myung, the true self is not something new to acquireβit is already within, just hidden.
Much like a dusty mirror that fails to reflect, oneβs true self is obscured by their form, life, and false mind. The solution? π§ Cleansing the self. True cleansing is not partial improvementβit is the complete elimination of the false self.
π When this cleansing is complete, what remains is Truth, and that Truth is the Universe. The moment one realizes that the Universe is oneβs true self, that is the moment of true self-discovery.
This awakening, once reserved for rare ascetics, is now accessible to everyone.
How can one find the true self?
No one can see their true selves, because it is hidden by their forms and their lives. This is a similar state to a dirty mirror that should reflect back oneβs image, but does not. In order to find oneβs true self, one must clean that dirty mirror. Namely, one must cleanse oneβs self. Cleansing oneβs self is to eliminate it completely, which is the way to truly find oneβs self.
Until now it was difficult to find oneβs true self no matter what kind of ascetic penance he practiced. Now it can be found easily by anyone. Oneβs true self is Truth, and it is the Universe. Knowing that the Universe is oneβs self is the discovery of his true self.
