🌟 INTRODUCTION

✨ In this deep and reflective poem, Master Woo Myung reflects on the fleeting nature of time and the illusion of emotions like grief and joy. People are trapped in their minds, laughing and crying, creating their own suffering and happiness without realizing that their true selves are already complete.

The key to understanding emotions lies in seeing beyond the mindβ€”to awaken to the truth that all things are our own minds and that true freedom comes from knowing the self. 🌿

Grief and Joy

Time that passes is like the flowing water;
and within that flow people laugh and cry;
they live meaninglessly.
All things live as they should,
but only we are laughing and crying.
All things are our own minds
that we ourselves make and then tear down.
People don’t realize the reason these minds exist –
that it is because their lives exist.
They are locked in sorrow,
not knowing their selves are already complete.

🌠 REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION

At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners learn that grief and joy are not true reflections of the self. These emotions arise from the false mind, which creates illusions and traps us in endless cycles of attachment. 🌈

When we discard these false emotions and return to the true self, we realize that we are already complete, and true peace and joy emerge naturally. The key is to know the self and understand that all things are our own creationβ€”our thoughts, our lives, our world. 🌿
