πŸ“– Introduction

🌫️ Why does human life often feel restless and unfulfilled?

In this powerful reflection, Master Woo Myung explains that the human mind is driven by hunger β€” a hunger that attempts to fill itself endlessly, yet is never satisfied. ✨ This constant craving becomes suffering.

The stories and memories accumulated over time form what we call the β€œself,” yet they are merely illusions. When one recognizes this, the futility of the false life becomes clear β€” and the path to awakening begins.

Futile Human Life

The human mind is one of hunger
that tries to fill itself
with even more minds of hunger.
It is a habit of this mind to want to be filled;
but no matter how a person with this mind tries,
it can never be filled;
this is the reason he suffers.

The world changes along with time that flies by
but everything that happened over the years remains in his mind,
these stories have become his self, driving him raving mad;
and he does not know that they are just illusions.

Such is the reason human life is in vain;
why it is the life of a non-existent illusion.

🌠 Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation

At Santa Clara Meditation, suffering is understood as the endless hunger of the false mind. 🌿

The mind tries to accumulate β€” memories, success, recognition, knowledge β€” believing fulfillment lies in addition. Yet addition never satisfies hunger rooted in illusion.

When the illusionary self dissolves, hunger ceases.
When hunger ceases, peace appears.
The end of futility begins with seeing the illusion clearly.
