π‘ INTRODUCTION
Most people think of enlightenment as a moment of insightβan “aha” in daily life. But Master Woo Myung tells us this is not true Enlightenment.
π What man knows is bound by his own thoughts, memories, and experiences. But Enlightenment, in its truest form, only comes when one completely discards the self, the habits, and conceptions that make up one’s false mind.
π When everything disappearsβwhen there is nothing left but Truthβthen one becomes one with the Universe. Only then is there complete Enlightenment.

Enlightenment Comes Only When One Discards
When we come to know or realize something while living in the world, we say that we have been βenlightenedβ. But enlightenment and what man knows are two very different things; they are fundamentally different in nature.
What man knows is a realization about his daily life or something he did not know before. Enlightenment is what one comes to know and accept when he escapes from the conceptions and habits of his entity.
There is enlightenment only when the individual that is trapped inside the narrow grave of his self comes closer to the consciousness of Truth.
Put in a different way, when oneβs mind that is only as big as he is expands to the infinite Universe and he goes towards complete Truth, there is enlightenment.
When there is nothing in the Universe, only Truth remains. There is enlightenment when all things have disappeared, or in other words, when one has cast off all his conceptions and habits.
When one denies even his self and eliminates all his images of the Universe, he becomes Truth. He goes towards Truth as much as his conceptions and habits have been broken. Therefore enlightenment only comes when one discards. Enlightenment does not come when one stores the words of saints he has seen and heard or when he tries to gain something.

π± REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
π± Enlightenment is not accumulation, but elimination.
Through the practice of mind subtraction taught by Master Woo Myung, one can go beyond knowledge and truly become Truth. At Santa Clara Meditation, we learn that discarding is not loss, but the only path to eternal awakening.
