INTRODUCTION
Throughout history, people have searched for a mystical elixir of immortality—a herb, potion, or substance that could stop aging and grant eternal life.
In this clear and uncompromising teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that no such elixir or herb exists. The human body, like all material forms, inevitably follows nature’s flow: birth, aging, and death. 🌿
He emphasizes that any religion claiming the physical body can live forever is misguided, for eternal life cannot be attained with this body of flesh.
Oriental medicine and herbs can restore strength, replenish nutrients, or cure illness, but they cannot prevent aging or death.
Everything in the Universe has a lifespan, and without death, the world would fall into chaos.
True liberation, therefore, is not about making the body live endlessly but awakening to eternal life in Truth.
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Does an elixir or herb for eternal life exist in the world?
Such an elixir or herb does not exist. It is nature’s flow as well as being natural that people eventually die; an herb that stops aging and death does not exist. It is nature’s flow that all creations with form in the world disappear. All religions that claim that one can live forever with this body are all false religions and cults. There can be no eternal life with this human body. Everything that people eat is in itself a sort of medicine. Taking oriental medicine supplies lacking nutrients to the body and acts only insofar as to cure illnesses and replenish strength.
Every material thing in the Universe has a lifespan. If people did not die, the world would become chaos. And because human life itself is suffering, if people lived for a longer period of time, there would be more people who would try to die. Although it is heaven’s blessing that people have longer lifespans than many other living creatures, death is better than living for a long time with poverty, misery, and suffering. Even if one could live a long time in this way, it is not beneficial to him at all.
