INTRODUCTION

πŸ’ In this contemplative poem, Master Woo Myung reflects on the nature of life as a dream β€” a fleeting, silent illusion that people mistake for reality.

Most people live chasing satisfaction and pride, never realizing the futility of their wandering. Yet when sorrow arrives, laughter turns to heartache, revealing how fragile human happiness is. Master Woo Myung reminds us that awakening from this dream begins when we humbly recognize that we do not truly know β€” when we stop living by self-deception and start living by Truth. 🌌

Dream I

Many a wanderer exists in the world,
but there is no one who thinks or says
that the life he lives is futile.
There are those who clap their hands and laugh
but they too feel heartache when sorrow finds them.
However not a single person knows
that life is just a futile dream.

People say that there is no one
who could possibly teach them
anything that they do not already know.
And so they refuse to learn,
for they think they know it all.
Thus they live their lives as they please.
I tell them that life is a silent dream
and that they should lead lives that are valuable,
but sure enough no one listens;
they just want to sit back
and wait for everything to go according to their wishes.
They are like thieves, ignorant of what is what.
They stand there with suspicion in their eyes.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION

At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners are guided to awaken from the dreamlike illusions of the human mind. ☁️
Through mind-cleansing and self-reflection, one comes to see that worldly happiness is transient β€” and that true peace is found only when one becomes one with Truth.
When the dream ends, awakening begins, and life gains real meaning. πŸŒ
