πŸ’‘ INTRODUCTION

✨ To discard means more than simply letting go of material things. According to Master Woo Myung, discarding is the act of throwing away attachments, the very root of the false self.

🌱 Attachments are formed from the struggles of survival. They become memories, and those memories harden into karma. This self, built on remembered thoughts, binds people to suffering and incompletion.

🌌 The way to truly shed karma is to discard these memories completely. This is repentance, penitence, emptying the mind, cleansing the mind, and spiritual deathβ€”the process of becoming free of self and reborn as Truth.

πŸ“ ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Discarding

Discarding is throwing away your attachments –
it is to be without self.

People’s attachments come from the pains they take
in living a life of survival.

Attachments are one’s self inside his mind;
this self in his mind is his remembered thoughts;

remembered thoughts are the actions he took
and they become his karma.

The way to shed your karma
is to discard your memories.

Such is repentance;
such is penitence;
such is emptying the mind;
such is cleansing the mind;
such is spiritual death.

– Woo Myung
