What is discarding?
In this teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that discarding means letting go of attachments and the self. Attachments arise from memories, formed through the pains of survival, and these become karma.
The way to shed karma is to discard memories, leading to repentance, cleansing of the mind, and spiritual death.
Through Santa Clara Meditation, learn how to empty the mind and be free from the burdens of the past.

📝 ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Discarding
Discarding is throwing away your attachments –
it is to be without self.
People’s attachments come from the pains they take
in living a life of survival.
Attachments are one’s self inside his mind;
this self in his mind is his remembered thoughts;
remembered thoughts are the actions he took
and they become his karma.
The way to shed your karma
is to discard your memories.
Such is repentance;
such is penitence;
such is emptying the mind;
such is cleansing the mind;
such is spiritual death.
