πŸ’‘ INTRODUCTION

What does it mean to chase out demons?
According to Master Woo Myung, demons are not external beings but the manifestations of the mindβ€”attachments, delusions, and false thoughts.

πŸ’§ A person who chases out demons may feel as though he weeps tears of blood, because it is a painful process of discarding deeply rooted habits and illusions. Yet, when demons depart, man unites with God and discovers the world of oneness in his mind.

🐜 However, after the demons are gone, the ghost-house remains within the body. Countless insectsβ€”the lingering roots of delusional thoughts and imagesβ€”must also be diligently removed.

🌱 By catching all these insects, one can finally be free of falseness and become a divine being.

Chasing Out Demons

A person who chases out demons weeps tears of blood.
Demons are manifestations of the mind one has.

When one’s demons depart, he unites with God
and the world of oneness exists in his mind.

When the demons have been chased out,
the ghost-house in which the demons lived
remains in his body.

Because they lived there for so long
there are countless insects,
and many different varieties of them too –
the insects are the source of his delusional thoughts
and images.

Diligently catch all the insects,
and become a divine being.

– Woo Myung
