INTRODUCTION
🔥 In this piercingly direct poem, Master Woo Myung reveals that a demon is not an external being —
it is the false self within us. The demon is our greed, attachments, and habits born from a self-centered mind.
As long as one lives trapped within his conceptions, he feeds the demon of illusion and separation.
Only by discarding the false self can one eliminate the demon completely and be reborn as Truth. 🌌
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
A Demon
A demon is none other than yourself.
It is thought that demons exist somewhere out there,
but you are the demon.
Your existence is greed and attachments –
a creature that has a self.
A person who lives with his conceptions and habits
is a demon.
– Woo Myung
REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION
🕊️ At Santa Clara Meditation, we learn that the greatest battle is within.
The demon is not a dark spirit but the mind filled with greed, resentment, and self-centeredness.
Through mind-subtraction meditation, we discard the false layers of the self,
revealing the pure, bright nature that is free of all demonic energy — the true, eternal self. 🌟
