INTRODUCTION β¨
In this clear teaching Master Woo Myung explains what enlightenment really is and how it happens: not by adding ideas, but by discarding the false mental images that cover the true mind. When the mind of the world enters oneβs mindβby erasing illusionβone knows Truth. True repentance (letting go / cleansing) is the practical method: like washing dirty clothes, the more you remove the dirt, the more the original state returns. πΏ

Enlightenment
In the world there are falseness and Truth. Manβs mind that lives copying what belongs to the world is false, and the world is true. Man is not one with the mind of the world; instead he lives in an overlapping copy of it. In any case, it is a certain fact that he lives in his own mind world. He comes to know Truth to the extent that the mind of the world enters his, and this is enlightenment.
Manβs mind is made up of illusionary pictures. Consequently, when he throws away these pictures Truth will enter into his mind, and he will know Truth to the extent of what he has discarded. This is enlightenment. Only when one repents, can one gain enlightenment and go to the place of Truth. It is the same principle as washing dirty clothes – the more you clean the dirt away, the more it goes back to its original state. A piece of paper, which has been scribbled on, gets cleaner the more the scribbling is erased. Enlightenment is the same as knowing the true state of the paper once it is clean.

REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION πΏ
Master Woo Myung teaches a subtractive path to awakening: instead of piling on practices or beliefs, we erase the illusionary pictures (karma, habits, false views) so that the mind of the Universe (Truth) can naturally enter. Practically, this means sincere repentance and the daily practice of letting go. As the βpaperβ gets cleaner, the original true mind reveals itself β that is real enlightenment.
