💡 INTRODUCTION

Master Woo Myung explores the profound concept of “returning to the origin of the universe” and the true meaning of seeking Truth (dō). Every physical thing—from humans to planets—eventually returns to nonexistence. This nonexistence, however, is not a void; it is the original, immaterial body of the universe that exists beyond form. True spiritual practice is the journey of discarding the false self to realize and return to this very origin, understanding that our true self is this substantial yet insubstantial existence.

📖 EXCERPT FROM “WHAT DOES ‘RETURNING TO THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE’ MEAN?” BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

“Whether it be man, animals, plants, the celestial bodies in the sky, or Earth itself, everything returns to nonexistence – the origin of the Universe. […]

To do dō (seek or practice Truth) is to return to this original body that is insubstantial and yet substantial, that exists amidst non-existence and does not exist amidst existence. […]

Therefore dō is knowing this existence that is our original selves, and this knowing is to return to the origin of the Universe.”

🌱 REFLECT AT SANTA CLARA MEDITATION

We often look for Truth outside ourselves, hoping to add something to our lives or intellect to become complete. Yet, Master Woo Myung teaches that finding Truth is simply returning to what we originally were before our false minds were formed. The practice at Santa Clara Meditation is the active realization of this. By systematically discarding the pictures, karma, and the self, you are literally engaging in dō—returning your mind to the original, infinite existence of the universe. When the false mind is gone, you realize that your true self has always been this eternal origin. ✨
