Everyone talks about finding themselves.
But what does that really mean?
Master Woo Myung shares a quiet yet profound reflection on his own path—realizing that true self-discovery is not about the personality or identity we know, but about awakening to the Truth within.
This is the Way, the dō (道), that Buddhist seekers have long contemplated.
And it is a path we are all called to walk.

Self Discovery
I knew not what ‘dō (Truth)’ was,
but upon walking its path,
I am now on the true Way.
What is the true Way?
It is Truth.
It is what every Buddhist monk
has agonized over—
the discovery of self.
People say that we must all discover our selves,
but what is real self-discovery?
I see that it is none other than finding who you are.
I must teach people that they do not know this.
Though I am at my leisure,
just humming a tune without a word or a worry,
such is my concern of concerns.
