In this clear and bold message, Master Woo Myung reveals a common misunderstanding: people believe they are already Buddha simply because scriptures say all is already enlightened. However, he explains that without cleansing the false, self-centered mind and being reborn as the Great Soul and Spiritβ€”Truth itselfβ€”no one can truly be Buddha.
To be Buddha is not to “have” Buddha inside, but to become Buddha through complete self-erasure and rebirth in the Soul and Spirit of the Creator.
Santa Clara Meditation offers the way to shed sin, karma, and the self, leading to true enlightenment. This transformation requires more than beliefβ€”it demands the death of the false self. Only then can one embody the true nature of Buddha, which is not ego but the eternal universe.
This is the path to true freedom and awakening.

People Mistakenly Think They Are Buddha

We have heard many times that we are Buddha. The whole of creation is already enlightened; the kingdom of God or Buddha is already complete and all creation is alive. But, because of their false minds, people are dead and trapped in their own graves. People live as slaves to their minds, their evil minds. When you cleanse the self, which is evil, and are reborn as Truth, the living Great Soul and Spirit, only then are you Buddha. Buddha is the existence of Truth, the Soul and Spirit of the Creator, the universe before the universe. Sin and karma are false; with the total absolution of sin and karma, the self disappears. One can be Buddha not by having Buddha in himself, but only when he is reborn as Buddha. Some cannot finish this meditation because they still have a self-centered frame of mind and try to put Buddha into themselves. Those people are sinful and have a lot of karma. It is difficult to become Buddha for those who have a lot of karma. When one is reborn as Buddha without his self, he is Buddha.
