Introduction
β¨ One of the oldest questions humanity has asked is what happens after death. People across cultures have wondered whether consciousness continues after the physical body dies and whether there are differences depending on how a person lived their life.
In this teaching, Master Woo Myung explains that many people carry their attachments, regrets, and habits of mind even after death. According to his perspective, the state of oneβs mind during life greatly influences what happens afterward.
A person who dies naturally at the end of their lifespan may move on more easily because fewer regrets remain. However, those who die suddenly or unexpectedly may remain attached to the places or people they knew in life.
Master Woo Myung emphasizes that the most important thing is to realize Truth while one is alive. When a person understands their true nature and the nature of existence, they can live in harmony with the Universe both during life and after death. πΏ

What happens after death, and is there a difference between what happens to a child and an adult?
When a child dies, his soul acts like the child that he was. A young soul does not know where to go, and often remains by his house or mother. Even an adult who dies before the end of his lifespan has a tendency to stay near his house because of his attachments.
A person who dies at the end of his lifespan is able to find his way not long after his death because he does not have regrets. However, a person whose life is cut short because of an accident or illness wanders the area of his death or the netherworld because of the regrets about his life.
The majority of people behave in the same way after death as when they were alive. They are unable to return to their true self by natureβs flow because they do not know what death is. This is the reason one must be enlightened while he is living so that he can live in the Universe during his life and after his death. This is the best way – to return to Truth that is oneβs true self.
We dedicate ourselves to making money, but we are thoroughly negligent about finding our eternal selves. This is the reason we suffer after death – because we do not know Truth. Truth never changes or disappears, but if we do not find it while we are living there is no guarantee that we will find it after death. Even if it is possible, it would be extremely difficult. We must pay more attention and try harder to find our true selves while we are living.

πΏ Reflect at Santa Clara Meditation
At Santa Clara Meditation, practitioners explore teachings from Master Woo Myung that encourage reflection on life, death, and the nature of the self.
Many philosophical and spiritual traditions suggest that a personβs state of mind and attachments influence their experience both during life and beyond it. Questions about death often lead people to reflect more deeply on how they live in the present.
π± Meditation offers a way to observe the mind and understand the patterns of thought, attachment, and perception that shape human experience. Through awareness and reflection, individuals may develop greater clarity about their lives and the nature of existence.
The teachings of Master Woo Myung encourage people to seek deeper understanding while they are living, recognizing that awareness and insight can transform how life itself is experienced.
