โจ INTRODUCTION
In this profound teaching, Master Woo Myung describes the journey to completion as climbing eight inner mountains. Each mountain represents discarding layers of the false self until only Truth, the Creator, and the Universe remain. ๐ฟ
This passage reveals how repentance, cleansing the mind, and letting go of the self lead to eternal life in the Land of Light.
ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG
Let Us Know All by Reaching Completion
People of this world!
Let us go to the Land of the divine,
which is the place we have only been able to hear about.
People of the world!
Let us go to the eternal Heaven,
which is a place we have only been able to hear about.
The key to entering this Land is
to repent your sins.
The key to entering this Land is
to cleanse your unclean mind.
The key to entering this Land is
to completely cleanse your mind and body.
This is repentance.
You must undo again and again
the shackles that bind you to yourself
and escape from them.
When your mind becomes bigger,
you can overcome your mountains.
There is no trueness in the human mind.
There is no Truth in manโs false mind.
May you discard your attachment-filled mind and your self
and thus become Truth.
You can go to the divine Land – the Land of Light –
when you abandon your unclean self.
The first mountain is
to discard your remembered thoughts
from the life you have lived.
When you have done this repeatedly,
only the Universe will remain,
and that Universe is you.
The second mountain is
to discard your attachment-filled self.
When you have done this, you will come to know that
your mind no longer exists
and that you and the Universe are one.
The third mountain is
to discard the existence you call your โself.โ
Then you will find that the Creator is in you.
The fourth mountain is
to eliminate oneโs self in many different ways
only to discover the Body and Mind –
the Creator before the Universe – is within you.
The fifth mountain is
for your mind to become the Creator,
who is the infinity, for which there is nothing larger,
wider, higher, or lower
so that only the โJung (Body)โ and โShin (Mind)โ remain.
You will know that above and below only the Creator exists
and that this Creator is you.
It is the mountain in which
you see and know the infinite Creator
as the Creator.
The sixth mountain is for
the infinite Creator and the Land of the Creator
to be inside you so that
everything is inside you.
Thus, this world would be true Paradise;
this world would forever be Heaven.
The seventh mountain is for you to become the Universe itself
so that the whole of the Universe is the whole of you.
This means you have completely transmuted into the Creator
and that you are within His cycle.
You have completely abandoned your self
and have completely died.
God is within you,
and thus you are able to freely converse with God
and live according to His will.
Such is the state in which you are cut off from
all knowledge of the world
and from all curiosity.
It is the state in which you know nothing.
You are wisdom itself
and so there is nothing you do not know.
You are Truth itself
and so you understand the logic
that only the Creator is alive and that only the Creator lives.
Such is rebirth and eternal life.
Such is completion.
You are a complete being.
In the eighth mountain,
you must realize that you have already been born in Heaven
and are living the life of Heaven.
You live as you are of your own accord,
for such is the will of the Creator.
You live just as you are, doing the work of Heaven.
You know that you must accumulate heavenly blessings
and build them according to the will of Heaven.
And with those accumulated blessings,
you will have no life or death.
You will live for others – for the Whole –
with a consistent and still mind.
You have received Godโs seal upon your forehead.
You no longer have your thought-mass,
but instead the Creator has become present in it.
Your thought-mass is your mind,
and since it ceases to exist,
you have become absolved of all sins.
Your mind is no more, but the Creator, God, exists;
thus, you have become the God of wisdom.
You are enlightened of all that you hear and all that you see.
There is nothing you do not know
and so you teach all.
You work to make this place Heaven on earth.
You work to make this place the Buddha-ksetra.
Whether you have received the third eye
or Godโs seal upon your forehead,
either way you are one who has
thwarted your demon and received its surrender.
He has completely died, and only Truth remains.
Therefore, you have nothing more to cleanse;
you are one who knows all and is caught up on nothing.
Such are the seventh and eighth slopes.
