INTRODUCTION

In this poetic and contemplative teaching, Master Woo Myung reflects on the fleeting nature of the world—its storms, pressures, and anxieties—and contrasts them with the serenity of living as emptiness.
Life, like clouds, passes moment by moment, yet humans suffer because they cling to their own self-made worlds and burdens.

The cloud symbolizes a mind that has become emptiness, moving freely with the wind, without resistance.
But people judge the cloud without understanding its true nature. Through this writing, Master Woo Myung guides us to awaken to the inseparability of emptiness and existence, and to live with the freedom of the wind-blown cloud. 🌬️

ORIGINAL WRITING BY MASTER WOO MYUNG

Cloud II

Frost and snowstorms are mere moments in time
and so are the occurrences of the world.
My mind is at leisure as I look upon the clouds.
For the longest time
I lived pressured by the thought that I must do things.
Human life is one that is lived in one’s own world.
Human life comes and goes with the clouds,
and thus one always has anxiety in his mind.

I live in the emptiness in silence,
and my body has become a cloud that blows
with the wind
and because of the wind.
This cloud simply blows with the wind,
but people judge this cloud that is me.
No one understands that
the cloud is the emptiness,
and the emptiness is the cloud.
I strive to teach people this.
