INTRODUCTION

✨ In this powerful writing, Master Woo Myung reveals what is truly the most important thing in life. While people often focus on survival, duties, and everyday concerns—symbolized by “bread”—Jesus taught that man lives by the Word of God, not by bread alone.

The true priority of human life is to become Truth. When a person becomes Truth, he becomes a living being, free from burdens, delusions, and suffering. His consciousness awakens; wisdom arises naturally; and he lives realistically within the order of the Universe. Cleansing the false mind is not an obstacle to living well—rather, it is the foundation for living truly, wisely, and fully. 🌿

The Most Important Thing in Life

Jesus once said that man cannot live by bread alone, but by the Word of God. One day, one of Jesus’ disciples told him that he would like to follow Jesus but only after he first went and buried his father. Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” Then there was an incident where a man wanted to follow Jesus, but wanted to say farewell to his family first. To him, Jesus said that he who keeps looking back with a plow in his hand would not be able to go to the Kingdom of Heaven. Also, there was a saint who once said that people should lament when the Sun sets on another day.

People cannot hear such words, for they are only concerned about whether or not there is bread on their tables. The most important and most precious thing in the world is to become Truth, and he who becomes Truth will become a living person. Man lives foolishly because his consciousness is dead and consequently because he cannot recognize those who are alive. Becoming a complete being is the most important and precious thing in the world. He who becomes a living person lives a true life; he lives well because he has true wisdom; he is able to truly live because he is free from suffering and burdens.

There are those who often doubt that they can live well once they have cleansed their minds. However, once a person cleanses his false mind, he is able to live a true life because he has the true Mind. This allows him to live a better life because he lives and acts within his bounds, not beyond them. He is able to live true to reality once his self no longer exists. Otherwise, his life would not be a good one, for it would be one that is full of delusions – delusions in which there are no actions or deeds.
